Using this program, you can earn up to 25.6 hours of California State Bar approved MCLE credits, based on the New York "50-minute hour" standard. The program actually includes 25.6 total possible MCLE hours, allowing you to "carry over" up to 1.6 hours of MCLE credit from your biennial compliance period (New York CLE rules allow you to carry over up to a maximum of 6 CLE hours) Therefore, you can either do the full 25.6 hours and carry forward the free bonus 1.6 hours, or save the 1.6 hours for your next biennial reporting period.
PARTICIPATORY CREDITS:
You earn your participatory (i.e., "seminar attendance") credits by completing the on-screen activities in Chapters 4 through 12 in the "Participatory MCLE Activities" section, with a proctor designated by you certifying your participation. Before you begin, please print out your log of participatory MCLE activities. You will use this to keep track of your MCLE participatory credits using another person (a proctor designated as your "provider's agent") at your location to certify completion of your participatory activities. This person does NOT have to be an attorney.
As you complete each participatory MCLE activity, both you and the individual designated by you as the provider's agent log in and sign your participatory record. When you finish all the participatory activities for which you wish to receive MCLE credits, you will return the original completed log sheet to us, with both your certification and your provider's agent's certification signed and we will issue your MCLE certificate.
SELF-STUDY
CREDITS:
You earn your self-study credits by printing out then taking the “open book” self-study tests, then submitting your completed ORIGINAL tests to us. There is no "pass" or "fail"; you simply need to take and submit the test and you receive the same self-study credits regardless of the number of right or wrong answers. We will then score and return your scored answers to you, along with the provider’s model answers. Your self-study credits include both the time spent in taking the tests and reviewing your corrected answers and our provider’s model answers. After receipt of your self-study MCLE activities, we will mail your certificate(s) of CLE self-study credits.
IF YOU NEED LESS THAN 24 CLE HOURS IN YOUR CURRENT 2-YEAR REPORTING PERIOD:
If you need less than 24 hours of MCLE credit in your current biennial reporting period, simply take the number of hours you need now, and save the rest for your following biennial reporting period. Remember, New York CLE carry-over is limited to 6 hours.
