Quick Start Instructions: This program provides up to a maximum possible total of 25.25 hours of California Bar approved MCLE activities. Also please see the California Bar's "actual time spent" policy below.
If you need LESS than 25 hours of MCLE credits, simply participate in the number of hours you need for this compliance period, and save the rest for your next compliance period!
Remember you cannot receive California MCLE self-study credits for more than 1/2 of your total credit hours in any compliance period, therefore if you have earned previous self-study credits for activities other than those in this program, do not exceed a total of 12 1/2 hours of self-study MCLE activities in any one compliance period.
Before you begin your "Participatory" activities, print out your Official Participatory MCLE Record (see Menu Item 21 above) as both you and your designated proctoring "provider's agent" will need to certify your participatory MCLE activities on it. You should designate the individual you select as your "provider's agent" BEFORE you begin your participatory MCLE activities. Please note the California Bar's "Actual time spent" policy: MCLE credits will be given only for the ACTUAL TIME SPENT on any particular activity. While our attorney-editor has determined that the times pre-printed on the Participatory Record log represent reasonable times to complete each participatory activity, if your "actual time spent" on any participatory MCLE activity (Menu items 4 - 12 above) is less than the time pre-printed on the Official Participatory Log (Menu item 21) you are instructed to cross out the pre-printed time, and write in your actual, shorter time spent. In such situations, you will receive MCLE credit for the actual shorter time you write in. While our attorney-editor has determined the pre-printed time to be a reasonable time to complete the particular activities, if you take less time, please so indicate on your Official Participatory Log sheet; in no event will more credit be allowed for time spent in excess of that pre-printed on the Log sheet.
Also note effective Feb. 1, 2003, the California Bar is eliminating Emotional Stress & Distress as a separate required subject, however you can still obtain MCLE credits for Emotional Stress & Distress when (as here) that subject included as part of another substantive activity (in this program, included as a part of the "Unbundling" participatory activity, menu item 11).
Your completion and submission of the Course Evaluation forms (Menu item 20 above) is purely voluntary on your part. If you wish to submit one or more course evaluations, you may do so anonymously or include your name, at your option; however you are not required to submit course evaluations should you chose not to do so.
Please read the Chapters "GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS" and "HOW YOU EARN PARTICIPATORY AND SELF-STUDY MCLE CREDITS" before you begin!
